Attack of the Zombie Skeeters From Outer Space

By Matt  //  Creative, My Films  //  3 Comments

So after I deactivated my Facebook it slipped my mind that the only decent link to the film myself and my fellow skeeters made in 2006 was unavailable for anybody to watch.

Here is an all new link for everyone to enjoy, like they have never seen Zombies doing things that are only usually seen in the kind of films that Moff isn’t allowed to watch.

Attack of the Zombie Skeeters from Outer Space from wasteyouryouth on Vimeo.

Made in 2006. Devised and filmed in one day (which probably shows), the last day at uni.

Zombies attack, using their unique assault. They are from Outer Space.

Quality is poor as the original file is probably lost on a broken old PC unfortunately.

ENJOY!

James Russell: Buried Alive on the Racecourse

By Matt  //  Creative, My Films  //  No Comments

Of all the short films I’ve ever done James Russell: Buried Alive on the Racecourse has been the most successful.   If you can determine success by the fact that in the almost four years since it was put on YouTube it has been watched almost 11,500 times and received a WHOPPING 45 comments, it is however my lowest rated video.

I’ve always loved how this epic stunt, better than anything David Blaine has done, performed by my friend, housemate, bandmate, Day of Pub™ co-creator has caused such lengthy and at times idiotic discussion on YouTube. Having had a quick glance at my Clowns Ate My Monkey account on YouTube I realised I’d made a lot of films I’d forgotten about and hadn’t posted on here.  I really thought this deserved to be, mainly due to the awesome feat performed by James as he lived in a grassy tomb for weeks.

Here’s the video, if you haven’t seen it I hope you like it. Below are a few of my favourite comments from YouTube.

sexiibella1 : LOL…i gotta admit, these was? kinda funny in my point of view!

dmb2515: hmm doubt he did that…there would be a lot of people watching and when he came out he jumped up like he was down there for 5 mins 21 days of laying there would make your? legs weak and the sun would burn your eyes….unrealistic

chrisbarnesblue: u can tel it is fake cos he jumped up when he would be starved and? weak…the stuff was in the same position for the whole time…the weather neva changed and when he came out he had no beard or stubble on his face

uvabaseball32: David? Blaine is sooooooooooooooooo much better!!!!!!! and atleast David Blaine does fake his stunts he does it for real

koooool34: omg its fake i mean you say difretn days but when you do your stuff are in the same spot and when you say “get up” he gets right up and smiles and dosn’t even at like he has been buried which he hasn’t its all fake he could’nt stay still for 3 weeks and stay like that for the whole night for 3 weeks? FAKE

merlingurl16151: FAKERS AND LIARS youd really leave you things there for three weeks? in the same position no less.? wow. you could have at least moved them around a bit… LIARS AND FAKERS!

PatrickBarrett03: You viewers have to? be stupid to think that this was really a 3 week “stunt” Of course it wasn’t. Besides, do you think the guys that made this video are that dumb? They’re just having fun. some of you should try it some day.

Spraggiejnr: fake becuase? on loads of the clips the smae things are next to him everyday in the same position and its the same weather. if you look there are like 5 things next to him everytime

Jgbo25: if he went for 3-5 days? he could die from dehydration, hunger, or hypothermia depending on conditions

brightside00: omgg people stop taking this serisously! we all know its fake and thats part of the comedy! lol at the end when some man walks over and looks dead pissed? off! =]

MarbleMemories: I don’t know how they did it, or what they put? there to look like him, but the thing was there for several weeks.

Cash Chase

By Matt  //  Creative, My Films  //  No Comments

Here is the dissertation film I did at university with my co-director James Russell.  Despite the film being somewhat dubious in coherence and quality believe me when I tell you we backed it up with awesome documentation and an epic presentation that had them rolling in the aisles.

The film is Cash Chase; a reality tv game show pilot.  The idea is that one pair have to complete a series of tasks in order to gain clues in order to win a cash prize.  Meanwhile another team are trying to hunt them down.  I’m uncertain if any of that is actually explained in the film, it would have been if we had the time to film segments with a host.

At the beginning is a trailer followed by the rest of the film.  I hope you enjoy.

This is the alternative ending that we filmed.

Dozen: A bit of a preview

By Matt  //  Creative, My Films  //  No Comments

Here is the first 8 minutes of Dozen, the film we started making a couple of months ago. At the moment it is certainly on hold whilst we do other things, like work, train and work on other ideas that are probably stronger than what Dozen had in store.

This was really a rough cut not for public consumption, there are a few changes that are needed to it, not least the pacing. Who knows, if popular demand calls for the rest of the film to be done then it will increases the chances of us doing it. Enjoy the ‘acting’.
